Landscaping

Give your property a personality with your landscaping. X-treme Green will design and create your landscaping vision or maintain and perfect your current building aesthetics. Maintenance of your landscaping includes:

Lawn Maintenance

Grass requires different watering to that of other plants (trees and shrubs). Because of it’s shallow root system, they require more frequent and shorter watering times. To avoid the damage of the sun’s heat, morning and evening times are best.

If you are looking to add fertilizer, make sure you understand why you are adding it and which fertilizer you are getting. Not all fertilizer is the same. Different concentrations of the essential nutrients in fertilizer are required for applications at different times of the year.

Aeration

Over time soil becomes compacted which prevents the proper mixture of air and water needed for roots and grass to flourish and survive. With the help of aeration, pockets are made so air and water mix for healthier grass growth.

Dethatching

Thatch is known as a layer of stolons, roots and dead grass. It is used to protect the crown and helps retain water. Too much of thatch will in fact choke out the grass. The best time to de-thatch is the beginning of the growing season. This ensures the grass gets plenty of time to repair itself and gives it a fresh start to the season.

Pruning

The best time to prune is when the plant is in dormancy. If the plant is pruned when energy is being moved to the buds or to the roots for winter survival, there is an increased risk of disease or infection. This could ultimately lead to the loss of the plant.

Hardscape & Sod

Property areas that require paving, driveways, retaining walls, sleeper walls, stairs, walkways, and any other landscaping made up of hard wearing materials such as wood, stone, concrete etc. require maintenance and attention along with the soft scape areas of your landscaping.

Do you need hardscape, soft scape and sod? We can design, build and install all of the components to the exterior of your property.

Fertilizer

Although it is very important to fertilize and feed your lawn and shrubs, don't go overboard.  If you over fertilize your grass, this can cause fertilizer burn.  We have expert knowledge in how to properly fertilize are year long.

Power Raking

Power Raking is a great way to remove dead debris and crust that builds up on a lawn over Winter. Power raking gives your grass a healthy start each Spring.

Weed Control

Weed control is the responsibility of each land owner. Without control, weeds can take over and become very invasive. Take the right steps with controlling aggressive and ugly weed populations. We have a hands-on approach to weed control and can include this service in other maintenance projects throughout the summer months.

Grading and Loaming

Grading or re-grading your lot or property can eliminate drainage problems you may experience. This would include sloping the grade away from building foundations, eliminating or reducing severe slopes and filling low-lying areas. We can assist you in creating or re-building more usable outdoor living spaces and customer access areas.

Poor quality loam can often exist on your property where it is not screened or low quality. This can cause lumpy and rocky areas. We will re-build these areas with high quality loam (topsoil) that provides top quality results with lawn growth and landscaping.
